From beach basics to your first ride
A surf lesson starts on the sand, where your instructor covers water safety, board control and the movement that gets you from lying down to standing. Then it is into the water to practise with active coaching.
Croyde Bay and Westward Ho! offer long stretches of beach and beginner-friendly conditions when the forecast is right. The venue is selected to give the group the best available session.

Your instructor helps you understand timing, positioning and what the waves are doing. The focus is on safe, achievable progress and enjoying the water rather than chasing a fixed result.
