What is coasteering?

See the coastline from its wild side

Coasteering is a journey around the edge of the sea. Instead of looking down from the coast path, you move through the place where rock and water meet—swimming, scrambling, traversing and exploring natural coastal features along the route.

There are challenges for different confidence levels. Your guide explains each section and helps you make choices that suit you; jumps are offered, never required.

Baggy Point’s rugged coastline gives coasteering groups a brilliant mix of rock formations, water features and route choices. It is our primary North Devon coasteering location and a spectacular place to experience Croyde from a completely different angle.

The exact route depends on the sea state, tide, weather and the group. That flexibility keeps the experience both exciting and appropriate for the day.

Your session

What happens on the day

After meeting the team, you will complete the required participant checks and be fitted with a 5mm wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet. Your guide gives a clear safety briefing before the group heads to the route.

Bring swimwear, a towel and secure trainers that can get wet. Your confirmation includes the meeting location and timings—please allow extra travel time around Croyde in summer.
